Win financial and human resources to grow your enterprise

Spark has more than £500,000 provided by Communities and Local Government to award to social enterprises preventing or tackling homelessness. In addition, the project’s partners have committed to providing time and expertise to participating enterprises.

Your social enterprise can win:

A share of £500,000. When applying, enterprises identified the specific funding and investment they needed to grow their enterprise, as well as what they would do if they were to receive £200,000 of investment. At the Spark Ignition event on May 28 and May 29, the 15 finalists will pitch and the Spark panel will split the £500,000 prize fund to increase their impact on the overall sector.

Enterprise insights. This fantastic prize involves teams of professionals from the private sector working in cooperation with the staff of a social enterprise to address a specific constraint on the enterprise's growth, such as in financial management, human resources or marketing. The top enterprises will win one pair-up each, with the possibility of more to be confirmed. Find out more about Enterprise Insights here.

Mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs. Several of the finalists will be matched with an experienced social entrepreneur to work with them over the next six months of the project, and guide their growth and development. The confirmed mentors include Nigel Kershaw from Big Issue Invest, and John Montague from TREES, with others to be announced in coming weeks.

Additional rewards from participating. All fifteen finalists have benefited/ will benefit from:
Pre-event coaching and workshops delivered by experienced social enterprise consultants.
Feedback from the panellists and social entrepreneurs on their proposal.
Sign-posting to further resources and support that may help them make their idea a reality.
