Insight/Case study - beneficiaries
G. (Brighton)
I’ve been sleeping on the streets for 40 years, since leaving home at 14. I’ve never really had what you’d call a ‘normal’ family life.
I’ve been selling The Big Issue for about a year now. I don’t have any substance problems but trying to live in Brighton without a local connection means The Big Issue is my only form of support.
Using The Big Issue’s savings scheme, which operates like a bank account, I’ve been able to save up enough money to visit family in Canada. I’m really looking forward to it and can honestly say that I’d never have got near it if I hadn’t got involved with The Big Issue.

With permission.
